Two Cents Worth (Special Thanksgiving Edition)
Posted: Nov 25th 2008 By: CMBurnham
Hey, folks, what's happening? If you're like most of the American population, you're scrambling to prepare for the holiday season, whle quietly having a nervous breakdown and pulling your hair out. I guess that's why I try to wear a short hairdo, that way my neighbors here in the trailer park won't laugh at me when I do the same thing around this time of the year.
Anyhow, the real reason that the higher-ups at the MWA wanted me to write this is to wish everyone a very safe and happy Thanksgiving. We hope you all have a lot to be thankful for. The MWA board of directors wanted to say that among the things at home, they are thankful for the MWA fans, the talent in the MWA, and our many friendly affiliates that we've made since our inception, such as the staff at Oklafan, the boys at Compound Pro, and the guys down at Tornado Alley Pro, who are on a temporary hiatus.
Earlier this evening, the Mrs. and I were snuggled up on the sofa watching WWE Monday Night Raw, and during the program there was a commercial/preview for ECW that featured former Perry, OK native and University of Oklahoma All-American wrestler, Jack Swagger. I hope this young man has a bright future in the WWE. Also, there was a promo about WWE mobile that featured former Edmond, OK native, Charlie Haas. I don't know about you guys, but I think his impersonations are priceless, not to be confused with the up and coming tag-team.
Well, the next MWA show is December 12, and I'll have my pre-show predictions up a little closer to that show. I want to say that I'm excitied to see where the Colibri/X-Cal confrontation is going to go. Also, I couldn't be more pleased to announce the debut of Oklahoma star and Compound Pro X-Division champion, "Broken Arrow Bad Boy" Justin Lee. He'll add even more depth to an already talented roster.
I would like to wish my bosses at the MWA a very Happy Thanksgiving, along with the following folks: Mike Iles, Old School Express, Blake Albright, Max McGuirk, Bernard Funk, El Super Colibri, Canadian Red Devil, Jack Legacy, Tim Rockwell, Gentlemen Thugs, Disco King, Michael Barry, Dustin Heritage, X-Cal, Big Stevie Caballero, Johnathon Cross, and a host of others.
Also, I want to wish the MWA fans a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks for everything that all of you do for the MWA and have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
That my two-cents worth,
J.W. McGillicutty
