JR's Blog: RAW Thoughts and Other Stuff

Posted: Oct 28th 2008 By: mikeiles

I enjoyed Monday Night Raw watching it from my hotel room in San Diego. It was a solid show with a nice balance of wrestling and entertainment.

The Cena feature was first class. Loved it. Cena?s return in his hometown of Boston at the sold out Survivor Series will be impactful.

Young men like DiBiase, Rhodes, Punk, Kofi, and Manu represent a potentially viable part of the WWE?s future. Who will step to the head of the class. Who will not make the Dean?s list?

Loved Rey-Bourne but their exciting bout doesn?t give me cause to think the Cruiserweights are returning any time soon.

Bourne has had two great days this week even in a losing effort. I really like this Mizzou grad.

Mike Adamle displayed his Spauldings Monday nite when confronted by Randy Orton. Mike played on NFL special teams at 5?9? so don?t discount his courage or toughness.

RKO, new tats and all, will soon find out that the McMahons do not respond well to ?ultimatums.?

Friday Night Smackdown was the #1 most watched TV program last Friday night w/ Men 12-34 for the 2nd week in a row.

I would have loved to have heard post match comments from new tag champs Punk and Kingston.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel is an old buddy of Jerry Lawler.

Suggestion to KC?s Larry Johnson and Steeler?s Santino Holmes..grow up!

Did I sleep thru the Indy Colts growing seemingly old?

Make no mistake, the Tennessee Titans are damn solid. They play great ?D? and can run the ball. Hey, didn?t you used to be multi millionaire Vince Young?

Oklahoma plays on Saturday night on ESPN vs long time, classy rival Nebraska. Feels like a close one to me and I have yet to see the spread. OU needs to win to keep their BCS Bowl hopes off life support.

I would like to see Texas Tech beat Texas on ABC Saturday night but UT is rolling. I do think a load of points will be scored and the atmosphere will rival any sporting event this year.

Sad to hear of SD Jones passing. I only met him at the WWE HOF one year but found him to be a soft spoken, polite gentleman. There aren?t many of those types left in today?s biz.

The World?s Angriest Announcer made the SIX hour drive Monday from Phoenix to San Diego with all his pals....alone. I wonder how many drivers were cursed along the way? The over/under is 100. Yours truly took the ?new school? way of traveling with a 50 minute Southwest flight. Didn?t even get thru a full Neil Young CD on my iPod.

If you?re in the Norman area Thursday, I will be in our original J.R.?s from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. for a radio remote on KRXO, 107.7.

Boomer Sooner from San Diego!
