NEWS
The Rock-N-Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) are scheduled for the NAWA Ring Champions event in Cedartown, GA. Prior to the show, country singer Jon Morton, son of Ricky Morton, is live in concert.

On ESPN Classic's "AWA Classic Wrestling" this past Friday night, the episode featured a match taped at the Showboat in Las Vegas in May of 1988 featuring The Rock-N-Roll Express vs. Krusher Krugnoff & Mike Richards. On his way to the ring, Robert Gibson was wearing at T-shirt from radio station KATT in Oklahoma City. Yes, we know this isn't really news nor timely, but Oklafan wasn't around in 1988 and it is interesting none the less.

WWE 24/7 is airing what would be the television debut of the 1980 "Showdown in Shea" card headlined by Bruno Sammartino vs. Larry Zbyszko in a cage match, which included the first-run in WWF of Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan. The show itself was done with no commentary so Michael Cole and Mick Foley did the voiceovers. The two mostly talked about history, and made jokes about how in 1980, the WWF dress code must not have been in effect. The commentary was said to be really fun with references to all sorts of obscure personalities, talking about MMA, Karl Gotch, and when Vince McMahon, who was the ring announcer, announced that Bob Backlund & Pedro Morales had won the belts even though it was only the end of the first fall of a two-of-three fall match, Michael Cole actually said, "Who is the one who is going to yell at Vince for making that mistake?"

Jim Ross was at the University of Oklahoma game and was shown during yesterday's college football broadcast on ESPN. Ross was mentioned in passing as he was shown on the sidelines as Oklahoma beat No. 16 rated Kansas 45-31.

Great news is that Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, who had a cancer scare a few weeks ago, finished his testing and it was determined that his cancer had not returned. He is now cancer free for four years.

Koko B. Ware will be a guest on "The Wrestle Guys" internet radio show tonight. The show starts at 7pm Eastern

Shane Douglas is no longer working for Target, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The former mat general is teaching school this semester at a middle school in New Brighton, PA as Mr. Martin.

During "The Bolin Alley" segment on the "Who's Slammin' Who" radio show, host Kenny Bolin has been verbally attacking Jim Cornette over recent weeks, however this time he might have crossed the line. Bolin talks about how it was Jim Cornette that drugged Jake "The Snake" Roberts earlier this month over a long grudge he held against Jake dating back to Jake's few appearances with Smoky Mountain Wrestling. This is a very serious claim to make and if Cornette had nothing to do with it, Bolin is going to have hell to pay once Jim Cornette finds out about this.

Millenium Wrestling Federation has replaced Jake Roberts on their November 15th event with Chris Sabin.

TNA is selling a Copley guitar with Jeff Jarrett's likeness laser engraved on it for $199. The guitar also comes with a Jeff Jarrett T-shirt and an autographed photo. They only have 12 guitars in stock and are available at ShopTNA.com.

In a recent radio interview, Mick Foley said that he had mixed feelings at first about going to TNA, but no believes it was the right decision and he couldn't be more happy.

Ric Flair appeared at the 1PW event at the Doncaster Dome in England yesterday and participated in a Q and A session and later cut a promo in the ring during the actual event. This was Flair's first trip to the United Kingdom for an appearance following his departure from WWE. 1PW official photographer Brett Hadley (MagicBert.co.uk) has some cool photos of Flair from the show which you can see by clicking
here.

Ric Flair talked about coming out of retirement for possible matches in Japan and Korea at a fans Q&A while he was in Doncaster, England Saturday. He said the main thing holding him back from taking the dates is how Shawn Michaels would feel about it (believe it or not, that's the truth, as he would at least take the Japan date for sure if he hadn't promised Michaels his last match). Flair has also been booked for a February 28th date for World Stars of Wrestling in Gondomar, Portugal, but that's an appearance and not a match.

The National Wrestling Alliance has posted video of Ric Flair being inducted into the NWA Wrestling Hall of Fame

Spike TV is doing something with Bill Goldberg, who is turning his 1970 Plymouth Satellite into an 850 horsepower Plymouth Superbird and will auction off the finished product with the money going to the Darrell Gwynn Foundation for spinal cord injuries. The car can reach speeds up to 200 miles per hour. Goldberg will be on Spike TV car shows in segments between shows and during commercials.

GPCW co-owner J. D. Richards contacted Oklafan last week and stated that GPCW has decided not to run any shows for the rest of year. He said the will be back in action in January 2009.

The Wrestling Express bus has changed their hours of pickup.
