Missy's Manor: SignaMania III

Missy's Manor: SignaMania III

Posted: Sep 30th 2008 By: CMBurnham

This past weekend I was fortunate to to be a guest at the SignaMania III convention in Fairless Hills, PA. This was one of the most organized conventions I ever participated in. It was easy for the wrestlers to accommodate every fan and it was easy for every wrestler to interact with the fans. I love doing conventions. It allows me to meet wrestlers that I have not seen in years and meet the fans.

Jerry Lynn is such a sweet heart. The second I walked in to the building, he came up to hug me. Jerry is so cool. He's still a big death metal fan. I hope ROH utilizes Jerry as a full timer. He got so much to offer the younger wrestlers in ring psychology.

I had a blast in seeing Stevie Richards. Richards brought up his sexual harassment lawsuit against me from ECW. After all of these years, Stevie was still seeking compensation. A very disappointed Stevie was looking for a six figure settlement, instead he walked away with a autographed Missy Hyatt book. Sorry Stevie! Maybe you can sue a publicly traded company for your next lawsuit.

I found great humor when a wrestler that can't be named had inquired if I use to hang out in Pensacola in the 80's. I than remembered that same wrestler hooked up or almost hooked up with a transvestite in Pensacola. That mystery wrestler spent the convention avoiding me, since I was going to remind him of that embarrassing story. I spent my car ride home in trying to call that wrestler up to make fun of his youthful indiscretion. I guess no wrestler likes to brag about being with a she-male. Only in wrestling.

I love the fans. One fan told me how he's friends with Baby Doll. Baby Doll is one of the most genuine sweet hearts in the biz. I requested that the fan should call Baby Doll up on his cell phone. Once I started talking to Baby Doll, I than decided to put her in touch with a promoter. Before you knew it, I possibly brokered a booking for Baby Doll in the North East [I didn't ask for a agents fee]. This was all due to a great fan. That fan can now say that he helped broker a wrestling booking. Talk about a interactive fan experience.

I ran in to Larry Zbyszko with his new full head of hair. Larry is now dating a hot 33 year old. This girl is the daughter to a James Bond. Now we know why Larry got new hair. I love Larry to death. Before I was ever in the wrestling biz, I drank 21 Kamikazes with Ric Flair & others. I puked up all over myself and Larry helped me get home. I love Larry forever for making sure that a stupid teenager got home safely.

I thought it was hilarious that Robbie Mireno from CZW came up to me. He thanked me for being complimentary about my opinion on BLK OUT. I didn't recognize him, since he looks like every guy in Howard Beach. For some reason we got in to a twenty minute conversation on how Becky Bayless is the best unsigned woman in the biz. Unfortunately Robbie insulted a pic of my dog. His comment made me downgrade Robbie to jabronie status. I still have to say that I always bet on BLK!

One fan had me autograph a 'Death Of WCW' book by Bryan Alvarerz. I found this odd, since I didn't contribute to WCW going out of business. I crossed out Bryan Alvarez' name and signed my name over it.

Cherry came up to me. She looks so different from every other WWE Diva in a good way. I'm baffled on why WWE released Cherry. A fan reminded me that she used to manage on shows that I worked on in NY in 2001. I'm so glad that she has came so far in the biz in the last seven years. I think she got a great look and can't wait to see her wrestle in WSU or NWS.

I was shocked that Madusa came up to me. We had heat for years. This was due to a inappropriate comment that she made on somebody's death. We started talking and we found a common bond. That bond is Madusa being a big dog lover. She adopted a poodle that was abused. Madusa proceeded to show me pics of her dogs all dressed up in costumes. I think my Moondogs are cuter than her dogs. Plus "Hotstuff" Milo Marinara has worked for Dory Funk's BANG promotion. Nobody's dog has ever been endorsed by Dory Funk.

I than confessed to Madusa that I bribed the WCW production crew to shoot her butt and not my butt on our Beach Blast Bikini showdown. Madusa looked sort of angry at me after I told her. I actually still have the promotional poster of Beach Blast that I got as a gift from a fan. The poster is framed and is still hanging in my living room.

I ran in to my good friend Adam from Pittsburgh. Adam and his crew are the most devoted fans. They drive to almost every convention. Adam always brings the best "old school" memorabaila. I always have to stop and thumb thru his old Apter magazines. I ran in to a couple of subscribers from www.missyhyatt.net. who I always enjoy to meet in person.

I stopped by and said hi to Iron Sheik. I told Sheiky that he doesn't deserve to be manipulated by his stooge. Sheik screamed about how his stooge steals $$$ and buys him bogus medicine. Sheiky is always entertaining.

I ran in to Mike Mondo [formerly of the Spirit Squad]. Mike, Romeo Roselli, and myself had the trip from hell at a autograph signing in Canada in July. Poor Mikey had to endure a weekend of me screaming at him for making a rookie blunder. Mikey's rookie blunder in Canada came when he told the guys at the border that he came in to Canada for a wrestling booking. This rookie error caused us to be detained for over two hours as they went thru all of Mike's belongings and than charged him $200 in taxes. Mike now knows to say he's in town as a visitor for all international bookings. It only cost him $200 and me screaming at him to learn this important lesson.

Ric Flair was a total class act to me. I couldn't believe that he broke away from talking to Harley Race and other wrestlers to come up to me and give me a hug. I'm still in awe when I see Ric. Ric even introduced me to his new girllfriend. I actually remember seeing Ric Flair wrestle live as a fan. I joked with Ric that I knew him for over 25 years and how come I never became one of his wives. Flair & I laughed about that comment. One of the most bizzare photo ops I ever saw was Ric Flair & The Zombie posing for a picture. That was a total surreal moment.

I had such a blast and I still look foward to wrestling conventions after all of these years. Special thanks to 'Super Agent" Scott Epstein, George Collectibles, & the staff of Signa Mania III for throwing a great convention, and all the great fans that stopped by at my table.

Last Friday I ran in to Homicide at the gas station. I was leaving and I noticed Homicide standing in front of the station. I got out of my car and was going to ask who he was. He cuts me off and says "Yes I Am Homicide". I than take off my baseball cap and sunglasses and said "Yes I Am Missy Hyatt". It was a very funny moment. I told Homicide that he is a great worker and how I enjoy LAX. I actually remember a young Homicide on JAPW & USA Pro shows busting his ass. I'm proud to see that a local wrestler from Brooklyn made it to one of the big promotions. Ironically that the gas station was only ten minutes away from where Homicide used to train wrestlers and practice his craft.

I'll be working for NWS on 10/10 @ VFW Hall, 321 South Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ. I'm psyched, since Little Jeannie will be making her return to wrestling on this show. I can't wait to watch Angel Orisini defend her WSU title against Mercedes Martinez. Its matches like this that make me a fan of womens wrestling. I always have the best seat in the house at the announcer table to watch great matches.

I'll be working on WSU on 10/11 @ Darress Theatre, 615 Main Street, Boonton, NJ. WSU will be having a "Missy Hyatt Memorial Tag Team Wrestling Tournament" to crown WSU Tag Team Champions. I'm intrigued by the tag team of Bobcat & Gorgeous George. I'm curious on who Angel Orisini will be choosing as her tag team partner. I gurantee that this show will have something for everybody.

I want to give a special "Rosh Hashana Shout Out" to Becky Bayless, Paul Heyman, "Big Dave", "Super Agent" Scott Epstein, and Iron Sheik.
