NEWS
A wrestling fan who saw Ric Flair after the altercation last Friday involving himself, his daughter and her boyfriend said that Flair was beat up pretty bad. Flair went to a convenience store after the brawl and that's when the first eye witness report came in. "His eye was completely swollen shut, there was blood everyone and cuts and bruises all over his face. His entire face was like a raw hamburger almost," said the fan who wished to remain anonymous and interviewed in the dark by [urlhttp://www.abc11.com]ABC11.com. ABC's reporters then visited Ashley's apartment and her boyfriend answered and did not want to appear on camera, answering his questions while still in the house and the cameras away. He said it was a family misunderstanding, everything was settled and he even talked to Flair himself after the fight. "Someone definitely beat him up pretty bad, it was worse than I've seen him do when he's actually performing in the ring," the fan said. Flair was treated at a local hospital after the fight. You have to wonder that after 36 years in the business Flair would know how to protect himself from an attack by a 22 year old.

The Ric Flair assault story is a complete mess. There have been four different articles with four different sources, including WSOC-TV saying Ashley's boyfriend assaulted Ric; The State saying it was a fight all three were involved in; the News & Observer saying Ashley's boyfriend may be facing charges down the road and that alcohol was a factor; and the Post Chronicle claiming Ashley attacked Ric. It appears that the first three stories are largely correct, where alcohol was involved, Flair and the boyfriend got into a fight, and likely Ashley was involved somehow and then was tasered after assaulting a police officer later. The story about Ashley attacking her dad appears to be someone hearing that charges were pressed against her and tying it together incorrectly. Flair apparently took a hell of a beating and his face was a total mess.

Ric Flair reportedly did his first ever shoot interview last Wednesday. It is being conducted by Highspots.com.

Ric Flair was at the University of South Carolina football game Saturday. He's at most of the games. No word if they were filming him like they were at the last game.

Tiffany VanDemark, Ric Flair's estranged wife did a Charlotte radio interview about Ric, and said nothing bad at all, at UnholyMatrimonyShow.com.

Jakks Pacific has released prototype photos of the Wrestlemania 24 2-packs. In the series are 2-packs of Shawn Michaels & Ric Flair, Undertaker & Edge, and Batista & Umaga.

There is an interview with Headlocked cartoon creator Mike Kingston talking about his comic and working with Jerry Lawler at Comics101.com/?page=SC.

The Honky Tonk Man has not been contacted by WWE, but he has been made aware of the mention on Raw (Santino Marella's streak to break the Intercontinental Title record of holding the belt for 64 weeks) from a series of friends.

Former University of Oklahoma wrestler and Perry, OK native Jake Hager is now going by the name Jack Swagger and has been appearing on WWE house shows of late.

Sources indicate that Mick Foley has signed a six-month contract with TNA for an on-air role, whereas Team 3D have extended their deal through to 2010.

The deal to lure former WWE champion Mick Foley from WWE to TNA was not solely to be apart of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Foley's agreement with TNA/Spike TV is seen as a move to further his acting career, as the plan is for Foley to appear on a few Spike TV programs. Even though both sides will say they left on "good terms," WWE is not happy that Foley agreed to a TNA contract.

On the most recent episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" where Gordon Ramsey made over the Handlbar restaurant in Long Island, one of the first guests to walk in was Mick Foley. The show didn't appear to make a big deal of him at all, they were pushing the fact that Dee Snyder of the rock group Twisted Sister was there instead, but Mick Foley was sitting at Dee Snyder's table.

Neither Mick Foley nor Kevin Nash worked TNA's "No Surrender" pay-per-view last night. Foley had a previous booking that prevented his TNA debut.

Jake Roberts is off the wagon. Footage from a show in the Cleveland area is at YouTube.com/watch?v=zmRTq61_A2A.

During an interview with WorldWrestlingInsanity.com, Samu revealed that Vince McMahon originally wanted to call his tag team with Fatu The New Guinea Headshrinkers and it was Samu himself that talked Vince into shortening the name.

Manu, who made his WWE debut last week, is the son of Afa of The Wild Samoans.

The MSWA event scheduled for the afternoon of September 13th was cancelled due to rain. Management at the Golden Goose said that it will be rescheduled for a later date.

Congratulations goes out to Angel Williams who just surpassed 6 months as IZW Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Tommy Revell on March 15th of this year for the title.
