NEWS
Kenny Campbell had to withdraw from MWA's 8-Man Heavyweight Title Tournament last Friday in Spavinaw due to a head injury suffered in a match against Dustin Heritage at the Mid-States Wrestling event in Harrison, AR on August 30th. He said he should be back at 100% by this weekend's IZW relaunch in Lawton on Saturday when he defends the IZW Impact Division Title in a 5-Man Ladder Match..

In a My Space blog last week, Anthony Jackson announced he would be having surgery on his elbow and his ankle. He expects to be in walking cast for quite some time after the surgery. On his My Space page, he said he is just Tony now and "All Action" was dead. It looks like we may really have seen the last of Anthony Jackson.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams is recovering from hernia surgery. Williams, recently released from the hospital, told the Wrestling Observer Newslettter that he thinks the surgery is a sign to retire as an active wrestler. In recent years, "Dr. Death" has worked sparingly on the independent circuit. His most recent match was against Seth Allen for Asylum Championship Wrestling in Colorado Springs, CO.

Both Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair will be together for an autograph signing on December 13th in Secaucus, NJ. Hogan has reportedly lowered his price from $75,000 to $50,000 for the gig.

Ric Flair is looking into writing a second autobiography, likely working with former WCW announcer Mark Madden. It is one of the projects he has wanted to persue outside of the WWE's shadow. Speaking of Flair, footage of a healthy Nature Boy arriving at a meeting in Los Angeles was shown on TMZ TV over the weekend.

New subscribers who sign up for WWE 24/7 Classics On Demand this September will qualify to receive an Exclusive Limited Edition Ric Flair? Classic Superstar? Action Figure while supplies last. Offer ends September 30, 2008. To subscribe to WWE 24/7 Classics On Demand, call 1-888-MY-WWE-24-7

B. Brian Blair won the Republican nomination for County Commissioner in Hillsborough County, Florida on August 26th, which puts him into the November election. Hillsborough County is the Tampa area.

With Mick Foley signing with TNA, his bio has been removed from the WWE Alumni page. WWE confirmed Foley's departure on their website on the evening September 3rd. However, as of Friday morning, the statement had been removed.

There is an unconfirmed rumor making the rounds that Mick Foley will not permitted to wear flannel in TNA. Apparently this look is a trademark of his WWE Persona. The rumor was later substantiated with his lack of trademark flannel at the house show. Again, this is unconfirmed.

Mick Foley was a part of Friday's "Opie & Anthony" radio show. He confirmed that he has been yanked from the upcoming Legends of Wrestlemania game due out in 2009. He also stated that he would be at Friday night's TNA show in New York City and that the A&E reality pilot he shot is dead and will not be airing. Foley also stated he would make his TNA debut in 3 weeks.

TNA was in Mick Foley's backyard in Long Island, NY., for a live event on Friday and it was inevitable that the Hardcore Legend would make his presence felt at the show. Coming out to Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild", the TNA - and hometown - fans gave the former WWE champion a warm welcome as Foley grabbed the mic and talked for a little bit saying how much he liked TNA. The segment came right before the main event of TNA World Champion Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle as TNA's Jeremy Borash said that there's a big TNA fan backstage and the crowd started to chant for Foley. Foley told the fans that this is only the second time that his entire family attended a wrestling show together - with the first one being Royal Rumble 1998 in his match against The Rock - and asked the crowd if they can chant the names of his children and the TNA fans did not disappoint. Foley gave his speech from the ringside area and never went into the six-sided ring. You might be able to check out the video of his debut at Wrestling-Online.com/TNA/Foley_TNA_debut.shtml. This video is embedded from YouTube and TNA has already taken one down so it might be gone by the time you read this.

Following the press release from the Gillespie Agency Wednesday announcing that Mick Foley has signed a short term deal with TNA Wrestling, TNA's official website quickly put on a graphic of a smiley wrapped in barbed wire with the TNA logo and 'Have A Nice Day' underneath it. Once you click on the link all you get however is "Stay tuned for more details..." With Superstars such as Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Booker T, and now Mick Foley jumping ship it seems that the war wrestling fans have been missing since WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001 is somewhat back on.

Sting's promo on "TNA iMPACT!" last week was actually originally slated to be a heel promo, however, Sting nixed practically everything in the script that would make him come across as a heel. His reasoning was that he wasn't feeling some of his lines. The end result was Sting cutting one of the best babyface promos of his career. The crowd's reaction to him was completely different to what TNA wanted as they cheered his every word instead of booing him. Nonetheless, TNA officials were said to be happy with his work because he did such a good job, even if it did take original storyline plans off course.

Sources indicate that there are apparently plans for WWE to retire Steve Austin in similar fashion to Ric Flair. Austin has commented that he will not seal a deal that he doesn't like, and that involves wrestling another match.

Tony Atlas has been added to the ECW roster page.

In a meeting held last week, the WWE creative team discussed The Undertaker's WrestleMania winning streak. They came to a conclusion that his streak should be ended by a Superstar on the rise. The general feeling is that the streak will not be broken, but Vince McMahon is reportedly not opposed to it. If the streak was to end, McMahon does not want to waste it on a "maybe" star, it has to be someone everyone can agree on who would become a top star for several years. Some are skeptical on whom to choose due to what happened with the likes of Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. The name that has been thrown around the most is Ted DiBiase Jr.'s. Management feels that he could be the next Randy Orton, and Vince is very high on him, although does not see him ready by next year. One idea brought up was to bring his father ("Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase) back in a few years, as he introduced The Undertaker to the WWE.

Congratulations goes out to Al Farat. Today (September 8th) is the one year anniversary of him winning the MSWA Mid-South Heavyweight Title. Farat won the vacant title by winning a Battle Royal. He is currentky the longest reigning champion in Oklahoma.
