NEWS
Mid-States Wrestling held their 5th anniversary show this past Saturday in Harrison, Arkansas and gave out awards to commemorate the event. Jake Boulder won Most Improved Wrestler, and Jason Jones was voted Most Popular and Best Match with Kevin Lovejones for their Barbed Wire Match in October 2006. In a rather amusing segment, as ring announcer Mike Iles was set to give out the Most Entertaining Wrestler award, Kenny Campbell interrupted and after thanking Dirty Dan Danderson, The New York Express and Kevin Bacon, among others, Iles said Campbell didn't win Most Entertaining to which Campbell responded he knew that. Campbell said he won the "Best Dance Segment in a Mid-States Wrestling Ring" award and showed the fans and the TV camera a handwritten index card that said such. Campbell's music came back on and he began dancing as Iles left in disbelief.

In case you missed Zane Morris on Indywarz Radio last Monday, you can listen to it in their archives. Click here to listen to the interview.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was quite upset about being drafted to Smackdown last week. He did have a meeting with Vince McMahon the next day in Houston, and things were smoothed over.

In one of his latest blogs, now Smackdown! announcer Jim Ross said that his previous blog right after the draft was ill advised, yet very honest. Ross admitted the he considered quitting after Monday Night RAW finished due to being drafted to Smackdown! without any prior knowledge. "I broke one of my own cardinal rules of writing, never write when angry," exclaimed Ross. But now the WWE Hall of Famer has seemed to embrace the idea of moving on to Smackdown! and work with former WWE champion Mick Foley. "I am positively moving on. I am going to do all I can to make Smackdown the best program the WWE produces," he added, noting that Smackdown! is filled with great talent and he intends to help the brand grow as they move to a new network within a couple of months. "I wish my good pal The King (Jerry Lawler) and Michael Cole great success but my professional priority is to help Smackdown kick ass. In more ways than one, 'the game is on.'"

WWE.com ran a poll asking fans who they were most disappointed to see get drafted to a different program and Jim Ross was the winner hands down garnering over 60% of the votes.

Writer Michael Hayes wanted Trevor Murdoch, which explains his move to Smackdown.

There are reports that the new Ric Flair DVD is better than anticipated. Apparently the documentary was filmed a few days before Wrestlemania 24, so Flair acts as if he doesn't know his fate just yet. The entire retirement ceremony from "RAW" is on there including the post show parts with The Undertaker and Vince McMahon. Each disc is almost 3 hours in length.

Ric Flair hosted a party in the private dining room of N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas last Wednesday. Flair was wearing a T-shirt that had an arrow pointing up at his face saying "Man" and an arrow pointing downward toward the word "Legend."

In Thursday's USA Today crossword puzzle, the clue was "wrestling legend Flair called the Nature Boy," which had three letters

It appears that WWE will not be moving ECW tapings to Mondays before "RAW" and will continue to be live on Tuesdays. So Tulsa will still have a live "ECW" and a taped "Smackdown".

Jerry Lawler did a guest spot during the Tony Clifton (Bob Zmuda) show at the Georgia Theater in Athens, GA this past Friday night. Click here for a clip of the confrontation between Lawler and Clifton.

The lineup for "WWE at The Garden" on MSG Network for July 2nd is as follows:

Hour 1 (8-9pm Eastern): The Undertaker vs. Tugboat, The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) vs. Dino Bravo & Earthquake, The Texas Tornado vs. Ted DiBiase, and Sgt. Slaughter vs. Jim Duggan

Hour 2 (9-10pm Eastern): Bob Backlund vs. Greg Valentine, Sgt. Slaughter vs. The Iron Sheik, and Ivan Putski, Tony Atlas, & Rocky Johnson vs. Roddy Piper, David Schultz, & Paul Orndorff

ESPN's Robert Flores, when calling a home run by Miguel Bautista of the Pirates on Sports Center Wednesday night called it a Batista bomb. He had mentioned being a big Ric Flair fan during an ESPN boxing broadcast earlier this year.

TNA recently announced they will be releasing "Best of the Bloodiest Brawls: Scars & Sticthes" and will feature the most barbaric and bloody matches in recent TNA Wrestling history. This DVD is intended for mature audiences. Features Abyss, Rhino, Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon), James Storm, A. J. Styles, and many more. Coming August 5th to ShopTNA.com and major DVD retailers.

The UK Sun reported this week that Jeff Jarrett will be wrestling on the next TNA tour of the United Kingdom.

A. J. Styles is responsible for getting Consequences Creed his spot in TNA.

The Bound for Glory page is now up at TNAwrestling.com and features A. J. Styles, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle along the top of the page.

Time Warner Cable has the A. J. Styles & Tomko vs. Sting & Abyss match from last year's "Victory Road" available on their onDemand service.

Al Snow did a run-in at the TNA house show in Cincinnati doing a lights out spot and when they turned on, he was in the ring during a Curry Man vs. Robert Roode match

There has been no recent talks about bringing the Ultimate Warrior to TNA.

Apparently the return to the ring for The Ultimate Warrior was a short lived one. After defeating Orlando Jordan for the Nu Wrestling Entertainment Heavyweight Title, Warrior vacated the title and is telling people that he is done for now. You can view the return match on You Tube by clicking here. Repotedly, Warrior was smaller than in his heyday but still quite ripped.

Rubber Guard Radio has interviews with Al Snow and Rob Feinstein at blogtalkradio.com/RubberGuard/Radio.

In Puerto Rico, Carlos Colon said on television that he is trying to get Chicky Starr, Harley Race, Ric Flair, and Abdullah the Butcher for World Wrestling Council's Anniversary show.

The most recent Bryan & Vinny Show featured in-depth recaps of ECW, TNA and Ultimate Fighter, plus a surprise appearance by Missy Hyatt. Members can listen to this near-90-minute show by

Congratulations goes out to 3DW Femme Fatale Champion Frankie Dee, who just celebrated 6 months as champion. Dee won the UWF06 Femme Fatale Title on December 15, 2007 by defeating Mandy, Tasha, and Mysti Meanor in a Fatal Four Way Match for the vacant title. The title was renamed 3DW Femme Fatale Title when the company changed names.

To paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumors of Korstia Korchenko's death have been greatly exaggerated. When Oklafan was preparing bios for wrestlers that came through the old Mid-South and UWF, some of the info was rather lacking. Such was the case of Russian wrestler Korstia Korchenko. All the info we found said that Korchenko was actually Mike Diamond, who also wrestled as Skull Murphy Jr. Since Diamond passed away in a car accident in June 1991, that is what the Korstia Korchenko bio read as well. Well, Korchenko contacted Oklafan telling us he is alive and well and living in Louisiana, and is not Mike Diamond. The corrections have been made to the Korchenko bio.

This is a reminder to all wrestlers, managers, valets, referees, ring announcers, and promoters.
