NEWS
Last minute spots are still available for IZW's wrestling seminar with Al Snow this Saturday at The Impact Arena in Oklahoma City. To register, call IZW at (580) 512-1661. This seminar is open to any wrestler in and around the area. The cost is $100 and starts at 12 noon.

Dusty Rhodes, who is booking for WWE developmental fed Florida Championship Wrestling, is said to be high on Jake Hager, the first ever FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion.

Mick Foley put all of his TV projects on hold when WWE called and offered him the color commentating position on Smackdown. A television pilot called "Hey Dude" was slated to star Foley, and believe it or not, the former WWE champion was in negotiations to be the executive producer as well, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Those now being considered for the starring role include Jon Bon Jovi, Rupert Boneham from Survivor, Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister fame, Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Jake Roberts and Diamond Dallas Page.

Jim Duggan is getting his WWE contract restrucured. He is being switched to a Legends deal, which doesn't have a weekly downside guarantee, but will pay him per appearance, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Duggan's new deal will allow him to seek independent bookings and personal appearances without clearing them through the WWE office.

On his website last week, Jim Ross compared Urijah Faber to a young Kerry Von Erich. That was funny, because every older wrestling fan always says that the first time they see him. He put over Faber, saying he had charisma galore and was exciting to watch. He said it was unfortunate someone of his size that was a world class athlete wouldn't even get a smell in pro wrestling.

Roddy Piper will announce a new protege sometime this week.

Scott D'Amore helps train TNA's women wrestlers, and booker Dutch Mantel works on the creative end of producing the knockouts.

Ace Young, Jake Roberts, George Steele, Kamala, Koko B. Ware (w/ Frankie), and Sonjay Dutt all served as groomsmen for the Jay Lethal-SoCal Val wedding at TNA's "Slammiversary" pay-per-view event. Dutt stopped the wedding and says he is in love with Val. Dutt picks up a piece of the wedding set and breaks it over Lethal's back. The legends all come in for the save and take turns beating Dutt down. Roberts pulled out the snake and threw it on top of Dutt. Steele then went nuts and ate the turnbuckles. Reports say the fans were not into the segment and was pretty much a waste of time.

During Tommy Rich's NWA Hall of Fame induction speech, Abdullah the Butcher interrupted. They brawled along the outside of the ring, spilling copious amounts of blood and terrifying excited fans.

Paul Orndorff, The Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens), and Mike Quackenbush all made surprise appearances at the NWA Hall of Fame ceremony in Atlanta. Orndorff attended with his grandson and will be inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame in 2009.

Evan Ginzburg's "Legends Radio" recently announced that Jake Roberts will be on the show June 18th. You can hear the show by going to Wrestling-Radio.com.

Former OCW owner John Crow was seen at Trek Expo in Tulsa this past weekend. He was selling off lots of wrestling merchandise, including pictures of Rocco Valentino & Brent Albright as the VIP Crew and OCW license plates. Crow also catered the "Supper With the Stars" event.

Oklafan would like to send its condolences to Action Jackson on the passing of his daughter Rachel.
