NEWS
Ric Flair is being honored with his own day in South Carolina. Today will officially be recognized as "Ric Flair Day" in Columbia when the pro wrestling legend receives a key to the city during a ceremony at city hall. In a statement Flair said, quote, "Columbia holds a special place in my heart -- it is the home of many dear friends and business associates." Flair is in Columbia for WWE's RAW show tonight at The Colonial Center.

Ric Flair revealed in an interview with the Miami Herald that his good friend and former Evolution mate Triple H will induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 29th at Orlando's Amway Arena.

One more news nugget on The Natureboy, Ric Flair will be appearing on "Secret Talents of the Stars" on CBS when the series premieres live on April 8th. Flair will be surprising viewers with his salsa dancing skills.

Steve Austin did an interview with Crave Online. When asked about the Ric Flair retirement angle, Austin said, "I haven't really watched enough to see what's going on but I don't think so just because Ric Flair is my favorite pro wrestler ever in the history of the business and [that story is not as good as it could be or should be.]"

Eddie Graham was announced as the 7th inductee into the 2008 WWE Hall of Fame. Dusty Rhodes is reportedly penciled in to induct him with Eddie's son Mike accepting on behalf of his late father.

Jim Ross was bothered with a bad eye last week. JR injured the eye a few years back at a "WWE RAW" show at Madison Square Garden Raw, when he worked with Triple H and got potatoed.

During an interview with Monday Night Mayhem, Jim Ross said that he wanted to let the fans know that his current plan is to build four to six more of his BBQ restaurants in Oklahoma, with two being built more this year.

Jerry Lawler has been told to refrain from using the term "puppies."

On March 27th, WWE Superstars will be squaring off against each other in the sixth annual THQ Superstar Challenge at the House of Blues in Orlando. They will be playing 'Smackdown! vs RAW 2008' on XBox 360 in a tournament style. The tournament has Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton and Carlito vs Santino for RAW brand; MVP vs Finlay and Rey Mysterio vs Matt Hardy for the Smackdown! brand; Kofi Kingston vs Tommy Dreamer and Elijah Burke vs CM Punk from the ECW brand; and Beth Phoenix vs Michelle McCool and Ashley vs Layla for the Divas. The show starts at 7:30PM EST and tickets are available at Ticketmaster. com for $15 each.

There is an interview with Beth Phoenix at www.kj97.com/pages/louwrestlingwwe.html from Wednesday in San Antonio talking Ohio Valley Wrestling, wrestling haters, Ric Flair and Star Wars.

During an interview with Playboy Magazine's website, WWE Diva Maria was asked if she had any crushes. She replied "Definitely John Cena. [But as far as classic wrestlers] I'd have to say Rowdy Roddy Piper -- it's all in the name. Rowdy Roddy Piper, come on! And he comes out in a skirt? I want to see what's going on there!"

A limited edition Jakks Pacific Roddy Piper action figure recently sold on ebay for $2,850.00. It was one of 20 made.

Roddy Piper's 18 year old son Colt Toombs is looking at getting into MMA.

The strike against Nattie Neidhart appears to be her look. She looks very similiar to current WWE World Women's Champion Beth Phoenix. Neidhart is the daughter of Jim Neidhart, and is currently training in Tampa with Florida Championship Wrestling.

Afa Anoai, Jr., son of Afa of The Wild Samoans, has been suspended for 30 days for violating WWE's Wellness Program. Anoai is under a WWE developmental deal and has been wrestling for Florida Championship Wrestling.

TNA Wrestling is hyping up the special iMPACT! live television tapings for this week with the return of former NWA, WCW and TNA heavyweight champion Sting. Sting lost the TNA title back to Kurt Angle only two days after winning it and then during the Genesis pay-per-view, Sting was teamed up with newcomer Booker T to take on Angle and Kevin Nash. The match was for the title with whomever scores the pin, wins the championship however Angle retained the title by pinning Sting. That was Sting's last appearance in TNA after he decided to take some time off. Now after five months, the former champ is set to make his return to TNA at the first ever live iMPACT! on Spike TV.

Bill Goldberg has a piece for the Internet where he visited Frank Shamrock and Cung Le at their respective gyms at www.youtube.com/watch\?v=WYogEeThfhY.

During his retirement tour in Japan, Dory Funk Jr. sold t-shirts, which sold like crazy. When Abdullah the Butcher is on tour in Japan, he sells forks.

Rhythm and Blues singer Kid Sister put out her first CD called "Koko B. Ware." Kid Sister is a protege of Kanye West.

A company called Black Diamond Wrestling will be running a show on April 13th in Wheeling, WV and they are advertising Doink the Clown as being on the card. The Doink pictured on the poster is not Dusty Wolfe who portrays Doink in and around Oklahoma, but does look like Matt Borne, the 1st wrestler to use the Doink gimmick.

Canadian Red Devil defeated Matt Emerald to become the inaugural TAP Heavyweight Champion this past Saturday. Devil is now the only wrestler to hold Heavyweight Titles in 2 different Oklahoma feds. He also is the current FCW Heavyweight Champion. In fact, Devil is the longest reigning champion in Oklahoma currently as he has held the FCW Heavyweight Title since March 17, 2006 when he defeated Rocco Valentino for the title in a Triple Threat Match that also included AWOL.

Fuel & Anarchy 2nd became the inaugural TAP Tag Team Champions this past Saturday as well when they defeated The Texas Outlaws, The Good Ol' Boys, and Big Smooth & The Unknown in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match.
