NEWS
Ric Flair was mentioned on the March 2nd Professional Bowling Association telecast on ESPN. There was a reference to Flair's golden locks when the announcer's where talking about a current professional bowler.

The reason why Ric Flair hasn't announced his retirement at Wrestlemania is because he was hoping to wrestle his last big match as a heel. The WWE thought it would be impossible for the fans to boo him, so that idea was nixed and Shawn Michaels will try to be the heel.

Bob Mould was on PRI's Fair Game and talked about his brief run as a scriptwriter for WCW. He said his favorite wrestler was Ric Flair, but said Flair should have retired years ago.

Sports Illustrated's website has posted a side-by-side comparison of Ric Flair and football legend Brett Favre, as both will be retiring this year. They're compared (not completely seriously) in over 10 different categories. You can view the results by clicking here.

Stephen A. Smith of ESPN was talking about John McCain winning the Republican presidential nomination Tuesday, began singing "Real American" and mentioned it as Hulk Hogan's theme song. He then said he was always a Ric Flair fan and said he's met Flair and Flair is huge in person. They came back from the commercial playing the song, saying it was the song played after Hogan bodyslammed Andre the Giant and beat Randy Savage. Then he said his favorites were Road Warriors, Magnum T. A. and his all-time favorite was Bill Goldberg, and that Flair was the best talker ever.

Dan Wahler's most recent column listed what he considered to be the top 10 WrestleMania matches of all time. The Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage at WM7 placed 7th. while Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan was #10.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross will be opening a second J.R.'s BBQ restaurant in an Oklahoma City suburb next month.

Mae Young was announced as the 4th inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame for 2008.

In the latest issue of WWE Magazine there is a feature where they list the top Wrestlemania dream matches they want to see. The list includes: Steve Austin vs. Hulk Hogan, Victoria vs. Beth Phoenix, Chris Jericho vs. Edge, Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker, Carlito vs. D. H. Smith vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) vs. Paul London & Brian Kendrick, The Boogeyman vs. Papa Shango, JBL vs. Triple H, and The Rock vs Montel Vontavious Porter.

The list of Superstars on the current WWE roster that have yet to be made into action figure form by Jakks are Santino Marella, Hornswoggle, D. H. Smith, Maria, Beth Phoenix, Katie Lea, Cherry, Eve Torres, Festus, Jesse, Maryse, Michelle McCool, Zack Ryder, and Kurt Hawkins. Of those, McCool, Phoenix and Hornswoggle have figures scheduled for 2008.

There is a big article on boxers doing wrestling on the ESPN website. Writer Don Stradley ripped on the media for reporting $20 million as the price tag, saying "Chalk one up for Floyd and Vince." He wrote about the wrestling of Muhammad Ali, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, and others like Leon Spinks and Chuck Wepner. There is a photo of Andre the Giant and Chuck Wepner which kills the 7-4 myth as Wepner, 6-4 or 6-5, looks 4-5 inches shorter than Andre. Big Show, however, looks three times the size of Floyd.

At this past weekend's SWA show in Blue Ridge Summit, PA before Nikolai Volkoff's match against Tide, the ring announcer said that he would be appearing at Raw from Milwaukee this week.

Reports have circulated that NBC has offered TNA wrestler Matt Morgan and MMA Star Erin Toughall contracts to become Gladiators in the Second Season of "American Gladiators". TNA, Dixie Carter, and Jeff Jarrett are all supportive of this move for Matt Morgan and have stated that these events will not effect Morgan's postion within the company.

At the Women Superstars Uncensored event in Lake Hiawatha, NJ on March 8th, Missy Hyatt interviewed Lacey Von Erich, daughter of the late Kerry Von Erich, during the "Missy's Manor" segment. Missy goes on about the Von Erichs gave her the break to get into the business. She asks Lacey if she can manage her on the next show and Lacey agreed. Later in the show, Lacey defeated Angel Orsini using the Iron Claw.

Missy Hyatt recently appeared on the Gimmick Hotline and was on the air with Referee Daryl Lankford and Philbu. They talked about upcoming WSU dates the YouShoot Kayfabe Comentaries. Also there was talk of what goes on at Missy Hyatt.com along with her latest shoot at url=http://www.kayfabememories.com]KayfabeCommentaries.com[/url]. Missy talked about the Ultimate Warrior as a male escort, as well as allegations of Eric Bischoff being a child molester. There was also talk of Bill Alfonso wrecking Missy's car and appearing in Judge Mathis' Courtroom to settle the dispute over it. The First Lady of Wrestling endorsed a Presidential Nominee in John McCain and talked about Jesse "The Body" Ventura as well. Hyatt also talked about getting shorted on money at the Vixxxens site.

Bill Goldberg is marketing a new coffee for espresso lovers called Jackhammer Java. Seriously. You can go to LegendsCupCoffee.com for more info. The coffee is owned by the wife of Dave Mustaine, the lead singer and guitarist from Megadeth, who is friends with Goldberg.

Bill Dundee and Brent West were on BlogTalkRadio.com last Monday night.

There's a story on former AWA announcer Rodger Kent at http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2008/01/30/4801688.html. He talks about hating how cheap he thinks Verne Gagne was.

KRON-TV in San Francisco did a feature on Saturday's Fog City Wrestling show this past Saturday morning. Anchor Henry Tenenbaum interviewed Rikishi and another wrestler, who may have been Matt Anoai, where Henry said wrestling was fake and they pretended to rough him up. It came across as one of those things that makes you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan.

Joel Hunt at JHunt66157@aol.com is selling his Missy Hyatt, Jerry Lawler, Bruno Sammartino, Sparky Lyle (former major league baseball pitcher), Mick Foley, Dynamite Kid, Superstar Graham, Bill Watts, and Ric Flair autobiography books and his collection of wrestling magazines.
