NEWS
In a conference call 2 weeks ago with NWA Oklahoma promoter Christopher Fox, it was announced that Slam Shady will be recognized as NWA Oklahoma Heavyweight Champion, Brent Albright will be recognized as NWA Universal Heavyweight Champion, and Justin Lee will be recognized as NWA Oklahoma X Division Champion. It was also announced that NWA Oklahoma will crown NWA Oklahoma Tag Team Champions and an NWA Oklahoma Intense TV Champion. During the fed's first run under the NWA Oklahoma name, they only recognized the NWA Oklahoma Heavyweight Title and the NWA Oklahoma X Division Title. In addition, Fox announced that Shady will face Albright in a Title Unification Match at the May 16th event and the winner will get a title shot against the NWA World Heavyweight Champion possibly at the NWA Oklahoma event in June.

Adam Thornstowe was named Most Outstanding Wrestling for 2007 by the NorCal UnCensored website (NorCalReport.yuku.com/). His feud against Rik Luxury was also named the Feud of the Year. His Cage Match against Luxury was named Match of the Year. The Best Angle of the Year Award was a tie and Thornstowe had a part in both. The award went to The Reno Scum (Thornstowe, Luster the Legend, J. D. Bishop, & Shane Dynasty) invading Barely Regulated American Wrestling League tied with The Reno Scum invading American Pro Wrestling.

It was recently reported that former WWE tag team wrestler Luke Williams (of Bushwacker fame) had parted ways with International Wrestling Association in Puerto Rico. Williams worked several years for the struggling Puerto Rican promotion as a booker. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears Williams accidently called Mario Savoldi, the man now running the promotion, and left a message complaining about how Savoldi is making the wrong decisions and doesn't understand the company's fan base. Williams thought he had called Savio Vega's number, but apparently he dialed Savoldi's number by accident. When Savoldi heard the message, he fired Williams.

The reason WWE issued the initial 2008 releases for DVDs with more titles is because Vince McMahon insisted on it. He, of course, didn?t approve the list before it was released, thus WWE is scrambling to fill the vacant dates due to the cancellation of the Randy Savage and Sting DVD projects. A possible replacement might be the second Bret Hart DVD project.

Jakks Pacific released WWE Unmatched Fury Series 7 which will include The British Bulldog, Rick Rude, Edge, and The Undertaker.

A WWF match featuring Jim Duggan from the 1990'2 was shown during intermission at a recent Golden State Warriors NBA basketball game.

There was an interview with Jeff Hardy at TheSun.co.uk, saying it was going to nerve wracking going into the biggest match of his career on Sunday. He had hoped to win. An interesting note is that both John Cena and Mick Foley told The Sun that they think the company would be dropping the ball if Hardy didn't go over because of all his momentum. They aren't the only ones in the company who feel that way. Hardy expected a 20-30 minute match and his goal was to have a better match than Edge vs. Rey Mysterio.

Jim Ross broadcast wrestling on the Internet. Friday night, Ross did color as the University of Oklahoma faced Iowa State in college wrestling at TakeDownRadio.com.

There is a travel package to Orlando that includes hotel, fan functions, Wrestlemania and Raw tickets and the chance to interact with Gangrel and Greg Valentine at a pre-Wrestlemania fanfest. WWE writer David Lagana has been released from the company after six years on the job. Lagana replaced Paul Heyman as the lead Smackdown! writer in 2003 and then after Heyman was let go from his ECW duties, Lagana was moved to ECW to again take over the job left by Heyman in December of 2006. WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes was the other ECW writer and for now will be flying solo until a replacement is found.

Brian Kenny and Robin Lundberg (a wrestling fan) who subbed for Max Kellerman on his show Friday brought up Ultimate Warrior's rant on Heath Ledger and Hulk Hogan. They also mentioned the Rumble being at Madison Square Garden (they tape at MSG) and mentioned the last time the Rumble was at MSG, The Rock won.

TNA recently announced the winners of the year end awards. TNA World Tag Team Champions A. J. Styles & Tomko finished in 3rd place in Tag Team of the Year behind winners The Motor City Machineguns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) and The Latin American Xchange (Homicide & Hernandez). Sting won the Inspirational Wrestler of the Year and Match of the Year (vs. Kurt Angle at "Bound For Glory"), and was runner up in Feud of the Year (vs. Kurt Angle behind winners Samoa Joe vs. Angle) and Memorable Moment of the Year (winning the NWA World Title behind winner Booker T comes to TNA).

The IZW Cruiserweight Title and the MSWA Cruiserweight Title have both now been vacant over 6 months. Matt Garza previously held both titles and was stripped of both titles sometime before July 28, 2007 when Mitch W. Carter reportedly had Garza deported back to Mexico. Oklafan recently changed the status of both of these titles to inactive.
