JR's Blog: SlobberKnocker!! 1st Book Signing, Paul O'Brien on Ross Report, OklaMania2, Lance Russell's Brilliance, War Games 2017

Posted: Oct 6th 2017 By: Jim Ross

Greetings every one and thanks for stopping by our site. Lots to talk about on the week that 'SlobberKnocker: My Life in Wrestling' was born.

SlobberKnocker hit bookstores on Tuesday with amazing results thus far as sales via Amazon.com have been exceptionally brisk. Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million are some of the outlets that are selling SlobberKnocker.

The audio version of SlobberKnocker can be acquired at www.novelaudio.com, iTunes, Amazon, and at www.audiobooks.com.

My first SlobberKnocker signing is going to be next Friday October 13 at Books-A-Mullion in Grapevine, Texas. More info to come but it's likely going to be in the early evening. Love to see you there. The's the night before the OU vs Texas, Red River Showdown the next afternoon.

I do know that if my wife Jan were still here that she would be enjoying reading all the positive feedback that folks are giving our book about an extremely average guy whose journey in life is far from ordinary and with an even more unusual vocation as its backdrop.

OklaMania2 is a huge, indy show this weekend in Oklahoma ...in Ardmore to be exact on Saturday at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum promoted by Imperial Wresting Revolution. Great, family show to attend including OklaCon in the afternoon where the stars will be meeting the fans. WWE HOFers Sting, Gene Okerlund, Sunny, Kevin Von Erich, and a host of other top stars converge on Ardmore which is just north of Dallas on I35. Missy Hyatt iw also making a rare appearance.

This month on the Ross Report podcast, I'll be talking to Ted DiBiase about his docu-film coming out in November and with Rory Karp who is the man behind the Ric Flair 30 for 30 that will air soon on ESPN to well earned fanfare. We've had some powerful guests on recently and have produced some of our most productive shows as of late. Thanks to all that continue to download and to subscribe for FREE to The Ross Report at Apple Podcasts and who support our efforts at www.podcastone.com.

Loved talking to my SlobberKnocker writing partner Paul O'Brien this week on the Ross Report podcast at www.podcastone.com and at Apple Podcasts. Paul's 'Blood Red Turns Dollar Green' trilogy is what lead me to Paul to help finish our book after Scott Williams unexpectedly passed away last year.

2017 has been a devastating year for loved ones passing away as it relates to yours truly. I assume that it's merely a function of growing older but it certainly doesn't make these loses any easier to accept. The sudden passings of Bobby Heenan and now Lance Russell have been crushing blows for me to deal with as both men and their respective spouses we also friends of Jan and me outside the business. I certainly understand the fact that life has to go on but no one said that it would always be an easy journey.

Trust me...it's not.

Lance Russell was unequivocally the best, TV Wrestling 'host,' for the lack of a better term, ever in the wrestling business and, arguably, will always be considered as such. Lance is the only person in the wrestling biz that I can honestly say that I've never heard a single person 'knock' or say negative things about. The only other person that one might be able to say the same thing about is the late Owen Hart. Lance had great credibility as a broadcaster and his audience trusted and believed in him. These are invaluable traits for any broadcaster and especially in the sports entertainment biz.

Excited to hear that WWE is returning War Games to the NXT Takeover in Houston on November 18. Should bre a nostalgic walk down memory lane. The early days of the War Games were special without question. Anxious to see what the 2017 version of War Games looks like, "if you weill."

Remember that you can get JR's delicious condiments including JR's Original BBQ Sauce, HOT BBQ Sauce, Chipotle Ketchup, Main Event Mustard (Jalapeno Honey Mustard), All Purpose Seasoning/Rub at www.wweshop.com where they will deliver right to your front door quickly and efficiently.

JR's deliciousness is also available at over 200 Ingles Markets in the southeastern part of the USA. Proceeds of every product sold at Ingles goes to www.teamheadlock.org.

Excited to be attending my Oklahoma Sooners game this Saturday against visiting Big 12 Conference member Iowa State.

At amazon.com, you can score 'SlobberKnocker' for only 13.99 for the Kindle version and $15.27 for the hardcover.

Thanks for the visit and the support especially for SlobberKnocker. Many blessings to you all.

Boomer Sooner!
