NEWS
Brandon Groom will take on Myron "The Future" Dennis in an MMA fight on August 25th at "Xtreme Fight Night 343" at the River Spirit Casino in Tulsa. Groom shocked fight fans when he defeated MMA Middleweight Champion Canaan Grigsby, in just his 6th pro fight. Dennis is coming off the biggest win of his career, a TKO victory over Superheavyweight Champion Haze Wilson.

The trailer for the highly-anticipated 30 for 30 ESPN production on Ric Flair was released along with the premiere date of Tuesday, November 7th at 10pm Eastern (9pm Central). Entitled "Nature Boy", this documentary produced by ESPN and directed by Rory Karpf, will take a look at the life inside and outside the ring of Ric Flair and features original interviews shot solely for the documentary by Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Sting, and several other former professional wrestlers as well as Flair's family and friends. Flair sat down for two in-depth conversations with Karpf over a 16-month span. “This film was basically born out of working with Rory Karpf on our ‘I Hate Christian Laettner’ documentary,” says 30 for 30 Executive Producer John Dahl. “Rory interviewed Ric for his take on sports villains and wanted to do a film on him next. After watching that interview for the Laettner film, we were convinced that Ric would be a fascinating subject to explore for our first feature-length 30 for 30 on a pro wrestler.” Director Rory Karpf said, “I grew up a huge wrestling fan in the 1980s and I was captivated by Ric Flair. It’s been a personally rewarding experience to tell the story of arguably the greatest wrestler of all time. Ric’s story transcends the wrestling business, and my hope is that it will appeal to wrestling and non-wrestling fans alike.” You can see the trailer on the 30 for 30 Twitter page by clicking here.

Ric Flair was on ESPN's "SportsCenter" on Friday night since he threw out the first pitch at the Miami Marlins home game against the Cincinnati Reds game. They showed old WCW interview clips and had him doing his "WOOOOO".

Michael Hayes tweeted a message to Road Dogg about Battleground: "Dogg, WTF, GREAT CARD, just didn't live up to our exp..,sh#t happens, TALENT GAVE ALL!! Umm, SDL reloaded, last night, So, back in the Sadle"(sic).

During an appearance on Edge & Christian’s "Pod Of Awesomeness", A. J. Styles reveals that it was Vince McMahon that made the call for him to win the WWE United States Title at the recent Madison Square Garden live event. He said “To me, it’s smart. It’s something that hasn’t been done in a long time and to do it at Madison Square Garden and everybody with WWE knows that’s a big deal. I think it was awesome. I think it was very clever and I loved it.” Styles recalled, “there was a pop, ‘he won! Yes!’ but, ‘well, who’s going to walk out there?’ and then, there was another pop because nobody walked out there. It was really cool, but it was smart to not do that every year, but every couple of years to do something like that. I think it just came down to doing something different and it was Vince’s call and no one else’s. And yeah, it was great.” Styles also commented on what WWE Superstars he would like to get in the ring with. He said “I have yet to wrestle Rusev and I think that would be really fun, to wrestle a guy like him. But there are guys on the RAW side that I haven’t really been in the ring with like Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor. I think people want to see. I’ve never worked Shinsuke Nakamura on US soil, so that could be a big deal as well.”

The WWE Network has added six new 1986 house show from the Boston Garden:
-January 11th: Roddy Piper & Bob Orton vs. Bruno Sammartino & Paul Orndorff, Tito Santana vs. Randy Savage, Terry Funk vs. Pedro Morales
-February 8th: Bruno Sammartino vs. Roddy Piper in a Steel Cage Match, Ricky Steamboat vs. Don Muraco, Tito Santana vs. Randy Savage, The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) vs. The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell)
-May 24th: Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage
-June 27th: Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage, Paul Orndorff vs. Don Muraco, Junkyard Dog vs. King Kong Bundy
-September 6th: Randy Savage vs. George Steele, The British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith vs. The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff
-October 4th: Big Machine, Super Machine,& Piper Machine vs. King Kong Bundy, John Studd, & Bobby Heenan, Tito Santana vs. Harley Race

Al Snow recently commented on his departure from GFW. He said “It was just a matter of finances. They have only a certain number of spots for agents/producers and Jeff Jarrett brought in several new guys. And to make room for the new guys, the older crew had to go. So, you know, it’s just how wrestling works. Whenever you are in any company or organization it’s about when it’s going to come to an end, not if it’s going to come to an end. I had a wonderful time there and wish them nothing but the best for the future. Maybe one day I’ll be able to go back and continue to do business with them again.” He also said his Kennel from Hell Match against Big Bossman was worse than the recent Punjabi Prison Match featuring Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton. Snow said “I would have to say the Kennel From Hell simply because a lot of people ask me about it and I always answer with the same thing. Number one, anyone in entertainment knows the two things you don’t work with are animals or children. Hell, even people in porn know that. You’re always going to get upstaged. Whether in a bad way or a good way you’re going to get upstaged. Two, you definitely do not work with animals unless they are HIGHLY trained animals. You literally have a situation where you make the entire story about the animals. Then you bring in animals that aren’t trained at all and then you wonder why it didn’t succeed. I’d have much rather done the Punjabi Prison. Let me tell you that would have been a lot easier and a lot more predictable then building a story around a bunch of animals that aren’t trained and just urinate, defecate and fornicate.”
