-Played football and wrestled at the University of Oklahoma and was a 4 time All-American in wrestling and 2 time All Big 8 in football
-While attending the University of Oklahoma, Steve set a then record for the fastest pinfall by pinning Perr Kaufman in twenty seconds
-Played football professionally for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL
-Trained for pro wrestling by Bill Watts, Billy Starr, The Turk, and Junkyard Dog
-Once while wrestling for Mid-South, received a cut over his eye. He reportedly was quoted as saying "Stitch me up doc, I got a match tonight" and received 108 stitches to close the wound and wrestled later that night.
-In 1991, UWF owner Herb Abrams was owed money by wrestler Steve Ray and wrongly suspected that Ray was sleeping with his wife. On May 20, 1991 at a television taping in New York City, Abrams paid Steve Williams an extra $100 for the night to break Ray's nose during their match. The ensuing shoot aired in its entirety on an episode of Fury Hour.
-April 2004: Announced that he has been suffering from throat cancer following his shoot fight at a K-1 event in Japan. He was told later that month that his voice box would have to be removed to remove the cancer
-October 22, 2004: Williams underwent a tough operation where they took skin from his leg to patch the hole in his throat.
-February 2005: Williams was declared completely free of cancer.
-August 2009: Williams' cancer returned and he began an aggressive schedule of chemotherapy.
-Won the Asylum Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Title from Franco D'Angelo in his last professional match
-Thanks to the efforts of Dawn Marie and the non-profit group WrestlersRescue.org, Williams was provided with a hands free voice box to assist in his speaking.
-Appeared in the TV show "Learning The Ropes" and also the miniseries "Winners and Losers"
-Won the Tag Team of the Year Award as voted by the readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1992 (w/ Terry Gordy)
-Voted Most Improved Wrestler by the readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1985
-Ranked # 8 in the 1991 PWI 500
-Ranked # 14 in the 1992 PWI 500
-Ranked # 27 in the 1993 PWI 500
