Other Facts: -Real name was Roderick George Toombs
-Father of pro wrestler Teal Piper
-Although billed from Scotland, actually from Canada
-Wrestled his first match at the age of 15 against Larry Hennig and lost in ten seconds.
-While Piper and Buddy Rose were competing in PNW, Rose ripped Piper's kilt and set it on fire. Piper left the ring, where at the time he was teaming with Stan Stasiak against the Sheepherders, and charged up to the Crow's Nest to try and put the fire out. Ironically by shaking the kilt, he caused part of the "No Smoking" sign to be burned away. At the time, Portland Wrestling aired on a delay at 8:30 PM. Several people watching the TV show called the fire department about the fire. When the fire department showed up nobody was there. From that time on every Portland Wrestling broadcast started with a "Pre-Taped" graphic on the bottom of the screen.
-At Starrcade 1983, Piper lost a brutal Dog Collar Match to Greg Valentine and lost 75% of his hearing in his left ear.
-After WrestleMania XII, he offered to buy the white Bronco that he drove during his Backlot Brawl Match with Goldust, but Vince McMahon gave it to him free of charge instead. The Backlot Brawl can now be considered the the first cinematic match in WWE history.
-Hosted an interview segment in WWF called "Piper's Pit".
-Has appeared in 28 movies. His most successful movie was "They Live" directed by John Carpenter
-Along with Sgt. Slaughter, he is immortalised as a G. I. Joe action figure.
-From January - March, 1996, he served a acting president of the WWF.
-Released his autobiography "In The Pit With Piper" in November 2002
-Was the best man at Ric Flair's 1st wedding
-Was awarded a plaque at City Hall in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, his childhood hometown
-His most famous quotes include "I'm the reason Hulk Hogan lost his hair!" and "I have come here to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all out of bubble gum."
-Was featured in the WWE DVD "The Greatest Wrestling Stars of the '80's"
