-Attended a TV Taping for Georgia Championship Wrestling on March 20, 1982 and was mentioned by announcer Gordon Solie as being present. This was 3 years before she would officially make her professional debut.
-Attended several wrestling shows before actually working in the sport and got a reputation as a "ring rat". Dated several wrestlers during this time including Tommy Rich, Jake Roberts, Road Warrior Hawk, and Gino Hernandez, among others.
-Met John Tatum in 1984 and started dating him also became his valet. Tatum & Hyatt then went to UWF where they teamed up with Eddie Gilbert, who eventually stole Hyatt from Tatum and married her.
-While working in the UWF, she became the first woman in wrestling to have a guaranteed contract.
-After she and John arrived in WCCW, she read in a newsletter that Vince McMahon was looking for a valet for Randy Savage. She sent in pictures and even got a call back from George Scott, who was booking WWF at the time. Both Scott and McMahon liked Hyatt's look, but ultimately, Savage convinced them to hire Miss Elizabeth as his valet. Because of this, Fritz Von Erich decided to use her as a valet for John Tatum and her career was started.
