-His appetite is something of a legend. According to a legendary story told by Trail West Magazine, Amarillo, TX is home to the Big Texan Restaurant and Opry, which offers a 72-ounce steak free of charge to any person who can eat the whole thing and all its accouterments within one hour. Klondike Bill wolfed down TWO of the 72-ouncers in one hour. According to another story, he and fellow wrestler Johnny Heidemann were kicked out of an all-you-can-eat buffet for eating 60 pieces of chicken in one sitting.
-Was hired by Jim Crockett (of Mid-Atlantic) to build guard rails for ringside and building rings.
-Became a Road Agent for WCW in 1987 when Ted Turner bought out Mid-Atlantic. When Eric Bischoff was demoted as president of WCW. he was forced to set up the ring, under the supervision of none other than Klondike Bill
-Passed away on October 3, 2000 due to Bulbar Palsy at the age of 68. The disease, similar to Bell's palsy, had paralyzed his tongue and he was speechless for the last months of his life.
