Other Facts: -Father of pro wrestler Ron Bass, Jr.
-Billed as the brother of pro wrestlers Don Bass & Bobby Bass and the son of managers Maw Bass & Paw Bass.
-When Dutch Mantel competed as Dutch Bass, Ron was billed as his brother.
-In 1974, he briefly compete as Ron Garfield. He is not to be confused with the Ron Garfield who competed in Memphis later in the 1970s.
-During one tour of Portland, he competed as Sam Oliver Bass and was billed from Oklahoma. He is not to be confused with the Sam Bass who competed in Tennessee. Ron knew Sam (who, by that point, had passed away) and was reluctant to do the gimmick, which was the idea of Dutch Savage.
-Carried a whip to ringside called "Miss Betsy"
-After retiring, he worked as a sales representative for a major construction supply company.
