-Was supposed to replace Terry Garvin [1st] in the Hollywood Blondes, but he broke his ankle and was unable to perform, allowing Buddy Roberts to take the spot.
-Retired from wrestling in 1977. He ran a painting company and worked as a musical director in his retirement.
-Passed away on November 27, 2004, 3 days before his 76th birthday, after an accident at a construction site where he was working, In a shocking twist, Donovan had recently won a very serious battle with cancer.
