-Husband of pro wrestler/valet Miss Peaches
-Billed as the cousin of pro wrestler Chicky Starr
-Competed for a while as Bobby Starr. While in Florida, he was competing at the same time as Ron Wright and the ring announcer got confused and announced him as "Ron Starr". Starr liked this and would later adopt this as his ring name. He is not to be confused with the Bobby Starr that competed in Oklahoma in the 21st century.
-Believed to have been adopted by Billy Starr's parents, making him Billy's brother. This story has never been confirmed, but Billy's children and niece Angela all refer to Ron as "Uncle Ron."
-Was Bob Backlund's 1st opponent.
-Won the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title from Les Thornton in February of 1980. One month later, Leroy McGuirk wanted to put the belt back on Thornton. Starr threatened to sue McGuirk and took his case the local media, saying he'd been promised a longer run as champion and $500 per week. Given wrestling's status back then, his case received little sympathy from the masses.
-Passed away June 8, 2017. He was believed to have been 67 years old. He had suffered 4 strokes and a heart attack in 2013 and was in poor health the remainder of his life.
