-Wore a mask in the San Francisco area for a while. He always was billed under his own name and made no effort to hide his identity. His official reason for wearing a mask was to hide his facial expressions so his opponents couldn't tell if he was in pain. The real reason was so he could load the mask with foreign objects to headbutt the babyfaces for cheap wins.

-In 1992, he was one of the figures accused of sexual misconduct, and had to resign from the WWF until things cooled down. His sexual orientation came out during the sex scandal, but luckily he was not scoffed at by the industry, and was rehired.
-On October 5, 2004, he gave his notice to the WWE and left the company after Taboo Tuesday. This stemmed after his comments were published criticizing Triple H being over-pushed and blaming him for the recent slump.
-August 7, 2006: Patterson underwent emergency heart surgery to remove a cyst the "size of a baseball" from the main artery.
-October 13, 2006, Patterson amazingly returned to the WWE as a Road Agent (now called a "Producer").
