-Grew up on a farm in northern Ireland. On his tenth birthday his father gave him a goat to raise. He named this goat Billy. However Billy was soon run over by a bus. He started wrestling as a way to release his anger and sadness for his dead goat.
-Retired in 1985 at the age of 44. He became a trainer of pro wrestlers.
-Appeared in the movie "Grunt! The Wrestling Movie" in 1985
-Took up competitive horseback riding, wining several low level equestrian competitions. He also started taking bassoon lessons, but soon gave those up after almost choking to death on one of its reeds.
-Wrote his autobiography, entitled "Everyone down here hates me!" sometime in the 1990s.
-Passed away November 28, 2021 at the age of 85.
