-Was a notorious "wildman" and was known for playing a lot of cruel pranks on his fellow wrestlers backstage.
-Had a big rib feud with Johnny Valentine that started as legit heat. York once welded Valentine’s car to the parking meters. As revenge for that, Valentine filled York’s inhaler (York had asthma) with lighter fluid. This nearly killed York, but the two eventually made up and together pulled a rib on the boys in the locker room where it appeared that York shot Valentine in the chest.
-Had a mildly successful Hollywood career
-Appeared in the TV shows "The Munsters" in 1964 and "Quantum Leap" in 1991
-Appeared in the movies "Paradise Alley" in 1978, and "Bad Guys" and "Body Slam" in 1986
