Other Facts: -Graduated from Sand Springs High School. She was an amateur wrestler on the boys team in high school. She was taught by her brother.
-Played on the Tulsa Softball team, which took a national championship.
-Believed to be the first woman to utilise the dropkick in a wrestling match
-In Power Pro Wrestling in 1998, Young was introduced to the PPW crowd as Mrs. Stasiak, the mother of pro wrestler Shawn Stasiak, during a feud with Jerry Lawler and Stacy Carter.
-Despite her long career, she did not make her WWF debut until 1999.
-Went to a professional wrestling show and challenged then-champion Mildred Burke when she visited Tulsa to wrestle Gladys Gillem. The promoters told her she could not wrestle the champion at the show. The next day Billy Wolfe (Mildred's husband and promoter) brought Burke & Elvira Snodgrass to Mae's high school. Mae fought both in shoot wrestling matches and defeated both of them in seconds.
-Was one of the first women to wrestle in Canada (in 1941 or 1942)
-Claims to have been wrestling in Memphis, TN the day World War II began.
-Starred with several other lady wrestlers in the 2004 film "Lipstick and Dynamite" which is a documentary about the women wrestlers from the 1950s era.
-She is the only wrestler to have performed in nine different decades.
-Helped to train The Fabulous Moolah for pro wrestling
-Ranked #241 in the 2006 PWI 500
-Inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in 2004
-Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008
-Passed away January 14, 2014 at the age of 90. At the time of her death, she was believed to be the oldest living former professional wrestler.
