-After retiring, he ran a pizza parlour named Zuma's Pizza, in Rosamond, CA
-Passed away on December 29, 2012 at the age of 86 after a two and a half month hospitalization due to pneumonia and kidney failure and heart problems he had endured for the previous 20 years.
