-Owned the Tulsa Oilers of the United States Hockey League during the 1940's

-Was NWA Treasurer from September 1950 to August 1960
-Owner and operator of The Coliseum where wrestling and other sporting events were held until it burned down in 1952.
-After Leroy McGuirk lost total eye sight, Avey sold a percentage of his wrestling promotion to McGuirk.
-Sold his interest in his wrestling promotion to McGuirk in January 1958 but remained Treasurer of the NWA until August 1960.
-Passed away on August 9, 1962 at the age of 67
