-Traded by Jim Crockett in the Mid-Atlantic territory to Jim Barnett in Georgia Championship Wrestling for Ricky Steamboat. Many people consider this trade the beginning of Steamboat's breakout carer.
-Got his name by accident as MSW announcer Jim Ross didn't know who he was when he made his first appearance and referred to him as "a one-man gang".
-Has a tattoo of a skull on both sides of his head and originally claimed that one was for Kerry Von Erich and one was for Kevin Von Erich
-Won the first (albeit, unofficial) Royal Rumble Match. The match was held in 1987 at an un-taped event in St. Louis, MO. Because of exclusive local advertising, it drew very poorly (around 2000 people) and was not well received as a match concept at the time.
-Was the last man eliminated by Jim Duggan when Duggan won the 1st official Royal Rumble
-Suffered a heart attack in 2000 and had to cut back his schedule, but he recovered well and lost some weight.
-Was scheduled to compete as Akeem in the Gimmick Battle Royal at WrestleMania X-7 in 2001, but he had lost so much weight that the costume didn't fit him anymore. He competed as One Man Gang instead.
-Trained Jim Cornette for pro wrestling
-Appeared in the movie "Stay Tuned" in 1992
