Other Facts: -Real name was Harold Calvin Myers
-Not to be confused with the Sonny Myers who competed in Canada in the mid-1980s.
-While working as "Sonny Weaver" he was billed as the brother of pro wrestler Johnny Weaver
-Defeated Orville Brown in November 1947 for the version of the World Heavyweight Title. However, in early 1948, the National Wrestling Alliance was formed, and recognized Brown as its first champion, leaving Myers' reign confined to the history books. Myers then sued the NWA and Des Moines promoter P.L. "Pinkie" George contending that the NWA and George had a monopoly on wrestling. Myers won the suit and $90,000 in damages.
-On June 23, 1951 in Angleton, TX, Myers was stabbed in the right side and stomach. It required 258 stitches to close the 16 1/2 inch wound. Even after that event, he still claimed Texas as his favorite area to wrestle in.
-Owned 3 different tree farms which he worked with his sons.
-Besides wrestling, he also worked as a traveling amusement show owner, a car dealer and held office as Sheriff of Buchanan County in Missouri.
-Helped train Hulk Hogan as well as local wrestlers such as Michael Barry, Nikes Plonk, Jake Boulder, and several others.

-Passed away May 5, 2007 at the age of 83.
