-Graduated cum laude from Bethany College in 1986 with a BA in History and Political Science and several academic honors. Earned his MA in Education.
-Trained by Dominic DeNucci along with
Mick Foley and future WCW referee Mark Curtis
-Left the WWF in 1991 to care for his dying father.
-In 1993, while wrestling with WCW, Douglas taught emotional support classes to high school students, grades 9 through 12.
-In January 2000, Douglas walked out of WCW along with his close friends Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, and Perry Saturn because they were unhappy with the direction the company was headed. The thought of the group was that all five wrestlers would be picked up by WWF. Douglas had burned more than a few bridges during his first run in WWF. Benoit, Malenko, Guerrero, and Saturn all signed WWF contracts and Douglas was left behind and worked for the California based independent fed Xtreme Pro Wrestling before returning to WCW.

-Took a break from NWA-TNA in early 2006 when his wife put him into rehab for abuse of painkillers.
