Other Facts: -The original version of The
Fabulous Freebirds consisted of just Gordy & Hayes. Roberts was added when the team entered Mid-South Wrestling. The second version consisted of Gordy, Roberts, & Parsons, and at times feuded with Hayes. A third version in WCW consisted of Hayes, Jimmy Garvin, & Badstreet.
-Michael Hayes and The Fantasia Band sang The Fabulous Freebirds theme music "Badstreet USA".
-The Freebirds briefly appear in action against Greg Gagne, Sam
Fatu, and Jim Brunzell during the opening sequence of the 1986 film "Highlander".
-Won the Tag Team of the Year Award as voted by the readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1981 (Hayes & Gordy)
-During the Freebirds run in NWA they captured the tag team championship. While holding the title they operated under the (unofficial) "Freebird Rule" which allowed any two members of the team to actively defend the titles on any given night. This "rule" has since been adopted by a number of other companies when a three (or more) man team captures a tag team title.
