NEWS
It was announced earlier this week that the "WWE Friday Night SmackDown" originally scheduled for June 14th at the BOK Center in Tulsa has been rescheduled for August 9th. The announcement also said purchased tickets for the June 14th event will be accepted on the new date.

For several WWE Superstars, this weekend is a special one for them as many are making their “WrestleMania” debut at possibly the biggest “WrestleMania” of all time. In total, 12 are making their “WrestleMania” in-ring debut either last night or tonight. These are Karrion Kross, Akam and Razar of The A. O. P., Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate of New Catch Republic, Grayson Waller, Dragon Lee, Santos Escobar, L. A. Knight, and Jade Cargill.

An article on ESPN lifted the lid of The Rock's training program to get back into ring shape for “WrestleMania XL”. It was noted that WWE sent him two rings, one for his Los Angeles home and one for his home in Hawaii where he was training alone. But in L. A., the ring came with some add-ons. Apart from the ring, WWE sent Gallus (Joey Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang) to train with The Rock along with Michael Hayes and Bobby Roode to oversee the training sessions. To get his timing back, The Rock worked with the NXT trio and also had veteran referee Chad Patton helping while a medical team stayed on stand by. The Rock described the training like riding a bike but with so many years in between his last match and this one, he needed to get his timing back since this will be a tag team match. The Rock also said that once “WrestleMania” is over, he will not disappear forever again and will always be part of WWE. "We are in it now. This is our thing and will forever be our thing," he said.

“WWE Rivals” and “Biography: WWE Legends” aired their last episodes for a few weeks last Sunday night on A&E. “Rivals” started at 8pm Eastern with The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan while “Biography” followed with an episode focused on Roman Reigns, directed and produced by his special counsel, Paul Heyman. “Rivals” returns on the air on April 21st but instead of Freddie Prinze, Jr. as host, it will be comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. New episodes will tackle Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage, Steve Austin vs. Booker T, Ric Flair vs. Dusty Rhodes, Triple H vs. Seth Rollins, John Cena vs. Batista, and Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock. “Biography” resumes on May 26th with episodes on Mark Henry, Eddie Guerrero, The Miz, Ricky Steamboat, Rob Van Dam, Ted DiBiase, The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner), Trish Stratus, Becky Lynch, Paul Heyman, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and another episode with Steve Austin training and preparing to get back to the ring against Kevin Owens. In addition, “WWE's Most Wanted Treasures” also returns on April 14th for a brand new season with Booker T, Mick Foley, and Lita on the hunt for memorabilia.

C. M. Punk spoke about what allegedly happened backstage between himself, Jack Perry, and Tony Khan at AEW’s “All In 2023” pay-per-view event. At one point, Punk said the following about Khan, “He’s not a boss. He’s a nice guy. I think ultimately, that is a detriment to the company.” During his podcast, AEW announcer Jim Ross commented on Punk’s interview. Ross said “I saw a snippet of it. I didn’t see the whole thing. Again, my life, this has been a great weekend health-wise. That’s what I’m focusing on. I’m tired of all the negative news, all the bad news, and all the controversial stuff. It’s enough is enough. How much barbecue can a redneck eat? I’m tapping. Let’s move on, here. We got everybody’s point of view, we understand. No matter what anybody says in an interview, it’s not gonna solve the problems. It’s just, we’re gonna continue to wear that son of a bitch out.”

Ricky Starks said all was good after his injury scare on “AEW Collision” on March 30th. Backstage the belief was that he suffered a stinger, not a concussion. Starks & Big Bill were originally supposed to defeat Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) in the quarterfinal match and face F. T. R. (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) in the semifinals, but they went right to a finish and it probably should have been stopped sooner with the injury scare. Starks said it was precautionary.

Episode eight of “Johnny Loves Taya” has been uploaded and can be viewed by clicking here.

Goldberg was a guest on the Drinkin' Bros podcast, which you can watch by clicking here.

O’Malley recently had ACL surgery. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Travis Ahboah, who competed under many names in his career, but was most recently known as Kane the Clown. He passed away April 1, 2024 at the age of 50 after having spent over a year in a coma due to a heart attack. Ahboah began his career in 2000, losing his debut match to Big Country. He was quickly recognized as having an old-school mentality which earned him a lot of respect from many of the veterans of the time. Ahboah, as Jason Sanchez, established a partnership with Kevin James Sanchez and Shane Sanchez as The Sanchez Brothers. He and Shane would beat The Old School Assassins team of Jimmy Cruize & Viper [2nd] for the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Titles sometime in 2004 or possibly very early 2005, but on January 22, 2005, the OSA reclaimed those belts. By 2006, Ahboah had completely changed his identity to become Kareem Sadat. Aligned with Al Farat, Mustafa Sharmoot, and Cody Jones, and managed by Skandar Akbar, they formed The Disciples of Allah and Sadat began to establish his reputation as “The Hardcore Legend”. Sadat would defeat Outlaw on January 6, 2007 to become the inaugural AACW Hardcore Champion, the first of 36 Hardcore Titles in 4 different companies that he would hold. But Sadat was not exclusively a Hardcore wrestler. Once SWCW was established in 2007, Sadat made it his home promotion, holding essentially every title the company offered. While his friendship with Kevin James Sanchez both inside and outside the ring was of primary importance to him, being recognized as SWCW Champion was also of huge importance. Sadat formed or joined multiple different factions including The Hardcore Connection and B. M. F. but the most important connections to him were the family he competed with. In addition to Kevin James Sanchez, who was a brother both inside and outside the ring, Sadat also got his future wife, Korttni Sanchez, involved in wrestling as well as his son, Kareem Sadat, Jr. and his late nephew Blade [1st], whom he held the SWCW Tag Team Titles with. Sadat’s feuds with Rick Garrett, Damien Morte, and Brock Landers are just a few of the standout programs during his SWCW days. He also had a highly notorious match with one of his idols, New Jack, in Ardmore in 2006 that nearly got both men banned from wrestling in the state of Oklahoma. Sadat would regularly compete for the entire existence of SWCW, winning the Tag Team Titles 5 times, the Luchador Title twice and the All-American and Heavyweight Titles each once. And when SWCW closed, he once again called on his partner Kevin James Sanchez to form Empire Championship Wrestling. Sadat again climbed to the top of the Hardcore mountain in EmpCW as well as claiming the Tag Team Titles with Maniac Mike. But by 2017, Sadat had begun to fade away from EmpCW, making more appearances in MSWA and BCW before fading away from the wrestling arena after 2017. But he made a surprise return in 2022 after only making sporadic appearances for 5 years and would once again find himself claiming gold as he defeated Logan Knight for the EPW All-American Title. He only held the title for a month before losing it back to Knight but that brief taste of gold once again inspired Sadat to return full-time to the ring. At this point, Sadat had begun to experiment with stand-up comedy, developing the persona of Kane the Clown and he would bring that personality to the wrestling world in his last appearances in the ring. Aligned with C. M. Burnham and preparing for a feud with Father Padge, Kane defeated Devion Black on December 31st, 2022 and then went on to defeat Drake Gallows for the RDW Title in a TLC Match. It would be the last title that he would hold. His final match took place on January 21, 2023 as he was one of the participants in the Nuclear Warfare Match won by Logan Knight. One month later, Ahboah was taken to the hospital after vomiting blood and quickly ended up in a coma, apparently having suffered a stroke and possibly a heart attack. He spent the remainder of his time here in that coma, frequently visited by family and friends as they all hoped that he would kick out as he had done so many times in his career. In the end, after 14 months of fighting, Ahboah finally submitted. Ahboah appeared on a total of 241 documented Oklahoma wrestling cards. The earliest was December 2, 2001 where he was advertised for an appearance on an NMS card in Oklahoma City, but his opponent and the result of the match is not known. The last appearance was just over 22 years later on January 21, 2023 at EPW in Oklahoma City, where was one of 8 participants in the Nuclear Warfare match won by Logan Knight.
